This variety is valued for its exceptionally intense, silvery indumentum (coating) on the upper side of the leaves, as well as its attractive creamy underside. The indumentum is especially prominent on young growths but remains present even through winter in this variety. The shrub has a very dense habit. After 10 years, it reaches approximately 1-1.2 m in height and width. The flowers of Rhododendron 'Golfer' are dark pink in bud, opening to a delicate pink and gradually fading to pure white. It performs well in temperate climates. Frost-resistant down to -24°C
