Lonicera kamtschatica 'Klon 44'
Very fertile, early ripenning polish variety. Medium strong growing shrub. Fruits sweet- sour, barrel- shaped, more than 2 cm high. This variety was selected in Skierniewice with high suitability for plantations. Spindle-shaped fruits, big, light blue, reaching 2,5 cm length and 1,6 g weight. Fruits bigger and darker than 'Wojtek' variety. Delicious, sweet and sour taste. Could be easily transported. Suitable for mechanical picking. The sugar content revealed in tests is 13°-18°Bx (above average among blue honeysuckle varieties). Very good cultivated with 'Wojtek' and 'Zojka' varieties. Ripens in mid of June. On average this variety yields a crop of 4,5 kg per shrub.
