A species native to Taiwan, where it naturally grows at elevations of 2,000 to 3,200 m. It is valued for its exceptionally intense creamcolored indumentum on the leaves, which darkens to a bronze-brown over time. The undersides of the leaves are covered with a dense, silvery coating. The flowers are light pink in bud, turning to pure white as they open. Frost-resistance from -18 to -23°C.
