Rhododendron hybrid 'Studenec'

A hybrid of rhododendron and azalea (evergreen azaleodendron). The flowers are long-lasting, 8 cm wide, and are gathered in rounded clusters. They are greenish-yellow (with buds having a slight salmon hue) and feature changing spots from orange-red to green. The leaves are glossy. Young growths have striking red bud scales. Blooming begins in mid-May. The variety is frost-resistant down to -22°C.
