Dark green, glossy, elliptical leaves that are covered underneath with a thick, rusty coating. Young growths have a silvery indumentum. The flowers are pink in bud, turning to light pink as they open, and gradually fading to white with a delicate pink hue during blooming. After 10 years, it can reach about 0.9 m in height and 1.2 m in width. Frost-resistance down to approximately -24°C.
